GREAT SERVICE FROM STOURPORT MARINAzz
23rd Mar 2005
What a Day! on Tuesday I had to take a 40ft boat from Worchester to Stourport Marina for it to be craned out and put on a lorry at 7am wednesday morning, bound for Gayton well I was told it was a 2/3 hour Journey, well 4 hours later at 3.55 I was rushing to get to the final lock which is manned until 4pm I had asked at the second lock if he would ring the lock keeper for me and ask if he would wait (Id give him a drink I was only going to be minites after 4pm)as it was inportant for me to get through. But being the very unhelpful man that he was he actully left at 4pm if not before so there I was left with the boat on the wrong side of the lock he must have seen us cruising along I was that near. Then the rain started and boy did we get wet, we had a 10 min walk to Stourport Marina to explain my little problem. On arriving at the Marina I was met by Maggie and Ross who had kept in touch with me during the Journey so knew I had not made the Lock in time, maggie soon put my mind at rest, she had already contacted the crane driver and the Richard my lorry driver and re sceduled the Lift for later in the morning, Maggie then said they would fetch the boat up from the lock at 8am when the lock opened, cold and very wet she then took us to the bar area and made us a very welcome cup of coffee as we had not had a cuppa all day, maggie then ordered us a taxi back to Worcester for my Car. I have to say a big thank you to Maggie for her help, she made it so easy for me I have to put them at the top of my list of Marinas If you moor and use that Marina you are very luckly to have someone who not only gives you a great service but smiles at you too! what more could you want. Tell me about the service you get or dont get from your Marina
